Wine vending machines: a new way to buy booze

In the US, the legal drinking age is 21 years old. Pennsylvania is the first state to try using the vending machines. State liquor laws only allow for alcohol to be sold at state-owned liquor stores, so the vending machines are a new way to provide convenience to consumers.
The machines require customers to insert a US drivers license or state ID into the machine. A high-definition camera captures the person’s image, which is verified by remote at a State processing centre to prevent underage drinking. Then, customers must blow into a breathalyser device to ensure that they are not intoxicated. The whole process lasts about three minutes.
The large refrigerated machines hold about 700 bottles of wine. There is an informational board nearby that details the variety and brands of wine and lists the details of each particular bottle including origin, body and food pairing suggestions.

i don’t think its a good idea. There are those who will find a way to manipulate it and misuse/abuse it.
Surely, there are greater needs in our world than finding a quicker way to buy alcohol.
Should vending machine weigh each costumer to see if the person should be eating junk food or not?

San Francisco is going to ban soda machines and pets (except fish) while making it easier for people to smoke pot, good idea?
Soda, after all, causes obesity. Remember 50 years ago when people drank soda and weren’t fat? Well, forget that, and quit bringing it up…Soda makes you fat!! You fatties can’t control your kids and your consumption, so we Libs will do it for you.
We Libs will ban soda, sugar, salt, fat, and fast food. We WILL intrude in on everything you do or put into your bodies (except for Pot and Abortion).

Should junk food be banned from school vending machines?

Once upon a time, like the 80s, there weren’t vending machines at all in most schools.
When I went to high school we didn’t have vending machines anywhere on the school grounds and we survived. I see no reason for there being vending machines anywhere other then the company who owns them making even more money off of unsuspecting youth.
Just like with cell phones….we survived without them and today’s kids can survive without them too.
